  • The Oscars will take place on March 15 and air live on ABC.
  • Conan O'Brien will be hosting.
  • "Sinners" set a record for most nominations ever with 16.

The 98th Academy Awards nominations were announced on Thursday, and Ryan Coogler's "Sinners" broke the record for the most nominations ever collected by one movie, with the vampire tale earning 16 including best picture.

That beats the previous record of 14 nominations, which was held by "All About Eve," "Titanic," and "La La Land."

Award-season favorite "One Battle After Another" also fared well, earning 13 nominations including best picture, best director for Paul Thomas Anderson, and best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio.

Major snubs include James Cameron's $1 billion-earner "Avatar: Fire & Ash," which didn't land a best picture nomination, and "Wicked: For Good" stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, whose names weren't called. Surprises included veteran actor Delroy Lindo receiving his first-ever Oscar nomination thanks to "Sinners," and "F1" nabbing a best picture nomination.

The Oscars are scheduled for March 15 and will air on ABC and Hulu. The show will be hosted by Conan O'Brien.
